Zolita Brings Her First Headline Tour to Boston

Written by: Bhumika

Zolita’s Boston show at Brighton Music Hall on September 29, 2024, was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment she stepped on stage, it was clear the presence of storytelling would draw fans in. The theatrical production was pageant-themed with country music undertones, which only mirrored the sashes and cowboy hats that covered the crowd. Early on, Zolita expressed her excitement about performing in Boston, and it was clear she was looking forward to connecting with her fans here.

The energy in the room was electric, and Zolita herself is a force on stage. She performed some fan favorites, including “Single in September” and “Bloodstream,” which only demonstrated Zolita’s musical prowess to sound angelic with her acoustic guitar. Zolita’s acoustic set, featuring “All Over Again” — the first song on the Queen of Hearts album — carried a beautiful message where she encouraged fans to celebrate the love they felt, even if it is now lost. She even took a moment to promote the Human Rights Campaign and encouraged fans to register to vote, showing her commitment to important causes.

Zolita’s show is a masterclass in how to engage with fans and foster a sense of community and togetherness. A particularly memorable part of the evening was when Zolita requested the house lights to turn on so she could marvel at the various costumes, and she broke into laughter, noticing a fan dressed as a pair of scissors. Another highlight was a sash competition where the crowd celebrated each other’s creativity. These heartfelt and playful interactions demonstrated Zolita’s ability to deeply connect with the audience and create a personal and intimate experience at a sold-out show.

The show took a fun turn with a “Small Town Scandal” segment, where fans did the sapphic hoedown with their cowboy hats. However, a crowd favorite was “All Girls Go to Heaven,” where the energy was palpable and proved Zolita to be a gay icon. The concert ended with an all-time favorite, “Somebody I Fucked Once,” keeping the audience in high spirits and eager for more. The fans' constant engagement was rewarded with a performance of her next single from the deluxe edition of the album.

Zolita’s Boston show was a night to remember, filled with incredible music, heartfelt moments, and a strong sense of community.
