Lost & Found – Kiwi

Written by: Aura R.

Kiwi is one of those bands that naturally possess many ingredients for stardom. Hailing from the North West of England, they formed in 2021 and have since gained recognition from promoters, securing supporting gigs with local UK favorites like VISTAS, The Royston Club, and more recently, Apollo Junction. They also earned a slot for their debut performance at Kendal Calling Festival earlier this year.

The four-piece band, consisting of Tom Taylor on guitar and vocals, Scott Milligan on lead guitar, Tom Mulliner on bass, and Toby Weatherill on drums, boasts a distinctive style that has exhibited both sonic and lyrical growth in their recent releases. Their clever use of aural sensations, punchy beats, and bright, sparkly leads results in fun and captivating songs. Their last two releases, 'City' and 'Accident,' revealed a more melodic and mature side of the band.

In their upcoming single, 'Lost & Found,' set to release on November 10th, Kiwi delivers a beautiful and engaging sonic landscape in their signature style. From the short, intriguing intro, the song piques the listener's curiosity. It maintains this momentum with a playful and fast-paced drumbeat that outpaces the vocals, infusing introspective lyrics with a danceable vibe. The catchy chorus features fantastic guitar riffs with an airy quality reminiscent of the '80s, along with an intriguing bass line inspired by Reggae and Funk sounds.

Kiwi exhibits a more eclectic sound that remains true to the band's trademark complexity and youthful playfulness found in their previous releases. 'Lost & Found' is an incredibly enjoyable song that's both catchy and deceptively upbeat. Simply put, it's a tune to love!
