Strange Times - Moonlight Parade

Written by: Aura R

Moonlight Parade is a band worth knowing. The trio from Worthing, UK joined forces in 2018 after almost 15 years apart, reuniting by chance. They've been quite prolific, having released three albums and two EPs.

They're currently preparing for the release of their fourth album with the lead single and title track 'Strange Times' under the label Stash Recordings, set to drop on January 4th.

The track has a beautiful quality, building up to an anthemic feel while maintaining a chill atmosphere with its electronic sound layering. It echoes influences from bands like Radiohead, Unkle, and New Order, all of whom have inspired Moonlight Parade's music.

The lyrics convey a hopeful stream of consciousness, a self-reassurance of better things to come even in strange times—'Well I believe that Love isn't dead'—both in the world and within your thoughts. Fronted by lead singer Ben Todd and featuring guest vocals from Jane Frances, the song delivers sweet, poignant vocals. It's a delightful tune, an excellent way to kick off the year.
