The Fun, Cold Shoulder of "Got It" by Ear Candy

Ear Candy is described as 'the brainchild of producer/singer/songwriter Jamie Jordan,' and I would also add 'bop maker.' He's joined in this endeavor by 'music pals' Jacob Hopkinson, Paul Nicola-Miller, and Aidan O'Hara. They have a penchant for making vibe-filled, alternative, and indie-pop catchy earworms. Coming from an exciting 2023 with appearances at Isle Of Wight and 110 Above festivals, plus a handful of shows in Europe, they are ready to bring some more music and have a thrilling 2024.

Their next single, 'got it,' is a song that comes filled with fun. It opens with a dropping beat going straight into synths and airy guitar riffs; you know it's going to be a good one. It has all the yummy sounds stacked on top of each other without becoming overwhelming in the slightest, showcasing the producing talents this creator has. The vocals are on point, matching perfectly the vibe - and the meaning - of the song, with grit and vocal control by Jamie that bring the creation together perfectly.

If you know anything about Ear Candy, you may be aware of the 'sad song with a happy beat' theme that their previous releases have. If you don't, I totally recommend checking out the artist's discography. That said, it's notable that this release takes us into the next step of the heartbreak journey, when you just don't really mind your former S.O, but you still care enough to take pity on them and shed light on how to get on with life.

Indie-pop at its finest, just like the world needs. It's a great song to dance and enjoy moving on, playing on repeat while waiting for the summer (or actually enjoying the sunshine depending on where you are).
