Artist Advent Calendar – Day 2: Kiss Bang

Day 2 of Next Wave’s Artist Advent Calendar is here, and we’re featuring the dynamic duo Kiss Bang! Blending raw emotion with electrifying energy, Kiss Bang brings a unique spark to the indie scene. Their latest single, “Drag,” captures their bold evolution and leaves you craving more. With creative inspirations ranging from vintage vibes to unexpected holiday movie picks, they’re the perfect mix of edge and heart. Stay tuned as we continue to celebrate the best of music this holiday season!

NW: What’s the weirdest thing that’s inspired a song?

Kiss Bang: I would have to say Max’s bright red Subaru. Funny enough, it’s actually inspired a lot of our visuals as well! One of the first photoshoots we ever did was with that car.

What’s the strangest place you’ve ever written or recorded music?

Kiss Bang: Probably on a TV screen in an Air BnB. We stayed up until four in the morning for like a week straight finishing the songs before we left for tour. I don’t think either of us had ever been that tired in our lives.

Do you have a favorite fan interaction from this year?

Kiss Bang: We played a show at 12pm at SXSW and there was one guy in the audience who headbanged the entire set. We loved it.

What’s a lyric from another artist that hits you hard every time?

Kaya: “You’ll never get away from the sound of the woman that loves you” Silver Springs, Fleetwood Mac

Max: “I’m so tired of being tired, sure as night will follow day, most things I worry about, never happen anyway” Crawling Back To You, Tom Petty

What song of yours do you feel proudest of?

Kiss Bang: Our latest single, “Drag”. It truly feels like an embodiment of who we are now. We really took our time. After about a 6 month hiatus, we wanted to come back with a bang.

Is there a city you’d love to spend the holidays in?

Max: Snoqualmie, Washington.

Kaya: Can’t really think of where I’d love to spend the holidays so I guess I’ll go with Max.

Who’s the most unexpected artist on your playlist right now?

Kiss Bang: I think we’d have to go with either Dolly Parton. Or Froogie’s Groovies. If you don’t know em, check em out.

Do you have a favorite holiday movie?

Kiss Bang: If we’re having a nice family movie night, Antichrist.
