Come Get Your Girl – She’s at a Lights Show

On 3/6/2026, Lights brought her Come Get Your Girl tour to Concord Music Hall in Chicago, Illinois. It was a performance full of exhilaration and straight up vibes which made for an unforgettable experience.

Kicking things off with the highly anticipated Come Get Your Girl, Lights made her grand entrance. However, what really drew me in came a few songs into the set, during Running With the Boys. As the bridge rang throughout the venue, the powerhouse vocals that Lights is so well known for had their moment to shine. It was as if the whole world stopped for a moment just to be able to hear what was going on at Concord Music Hall.

One song ran into the next and I found myself in a trance. Seeing the pure joy that flowed through every movement, every lyric, every step that Lights took onstage – it was a breath of fresh air. She had been sick the last time that she had been through Chicago, and though she kept up her energy in spite of her illness, it was apparent how grateful she was to be healthier this time around. The ability to not take any opportunity to do what you love for granted is contagious, and that appreciation for your craft translates to your audiences.

About halfway through the set, a gaming chair was brought onstage for the song Final Round. This intrigued me, as I’ve never seen something like this done before. And for it being the first time seeing it done, I can say it was done well. Lights has such a presence when she is onstage, that even sitting and spinning in a chair, she is able to captivate her audience like it’s nothing. This isn’t something that’s easy to do, so it was pretty impressive to experience a presence like that firsthand.

Throughout the night, the incredible vocals, raw delight, and commanding presence were sprinkled into every element of the show. But a transition that I have to note was the cover of All The Small Things by blink-182 into her very own Surface Tension, which was legendary. The flow of the iconic cover into one of my personal favorites off of the most recent album was something truly memorable. It was a beautiful way to begin winding down to the end of the show.

The night ended with an encore of Up We Go and Education, which was the perfect mix of nostalgia and current thrills. As someone who has seen Lights maybe eight times now, I can confidently say that she consistently delivers a performance that will keep you on your toes. There are still a few tour dates left along the east coast, and if you’ve got the chance to catch her, I would highly recommend it. I promise that it is an opportunity that makes you remember why you love live music.
