EVERGLOW is back…For good!
There are groups that make it into the industry…and some that don’t. EVERGLOW, the famous K-Pop girl group under Yuehua Entertainment, had it all…till they suddenly stopped making music. Why is that? After releasing their fifth single album, Zombie, and the follow-up tour ‘Pulse & Heart,’ the girls went on break for almost more than a year. During that time, now-former member Yiren, shared that the members weren’t being paid since debut, which left fans in shock. Afterwards, they left that company, and are now back in 2026, with the mini-album ‘Code’ released under Chxxta Company, as a four-member group instead (Yiren and Mia are the members that left, with E:U, Aisha, Sihyeon, and Onda the only ones remaining in the group).
‘Code’ features four new songs, which showcase the new beginning of EVERGLOW as a four-member group: ‘BREAKOUT,’ ‘Focus,’ ‘Code,’ and ‘Can’t Be Broken.’ Here is my review!
‘BREAKOUT’ is an EDM intro–type of song, with a powerful beat that showcases the return of EVERGLOW to the K-Pop music industry. It quickly draws you in, making you bop to the beat. One of the best album intros the group has ever released, in my opinion.
‘Focus’ is the second song on the mini album. I believe it should have been the main single instead of ‘Code.’ This song screams EVERGLOW-vibes. It reminded me of the old songs they used to release, with the same powerful and badass vocals/beat! It’s really well-done, and I can’t wait to hear it on tour.
Now onto the main single,’Code.’ This song takes some time to get used to. I had to listen to it a few times before actually beginning to like it. I think it’s badass, yes, but doesn’t give the same vibes that the previous songs that EVERGLOW released in the past before changing company, which, differently, the other songs in this mini album gave me. However, this song has potential and the choreography is so addictive!
The last song on the mini album is ‘Can’t Be Broken.’ Such a great b-side!!! I adore it so much, it’s phenomenal to me each time that I listen to it. This is a love song to FOREVER (the EVERGLOW fandom name) in my opinion, the ones that stayed to the group’s side since debut.
Overall, for a group that just switched companies and is setting their foot back into the K-Pop music industry, EVERGLOW is doing really great with this mini album’s release. Very good songs and this gives them the perfect opportunity to become popular again with this K-Pop generation’s fans. Furthemore, the group is going on tour in USA. The company hasn’t shared the tour dates yet so make sure to follow EVERGLOW on their social media accounts to stay updated…and listen to ‘Code’ Mini Album of course!!!
