DYLAN - The Rebel Child World Tour.

Written by: Aubyn Rodgers

DYLAN opened her show in Leeds on Tuesday night with ‘Rebel Child,’ the title track of her tour. She put on a remarkable show even though she was suffering from a chest infection. Her powerful and flawless vocals filled the room as she asked fans to ‘help her out’ and sing extra loud.

‘Girl Of Your Dreams,’ the first song on her EP ‘The Greatest Thing I’ll Never Learn,’ got the crowd bouncing and full of excitement. She followed this up with ‘Nineteen,’ a nostalgic song about being young, care-free, and having your heart broken.

The small intimate venue (1000 capacity) allowed DYLAN to create a relationship with her fans during the show. She stated that she would be watching her fans dance throughout and give a guitar pick to the best dancer at the end of the night - she finalized this by throwing multiple across the venue for fans to catch.

She sang ‘Every Heart But Mine’ and ‘Blisters’ before throwing it back to her first EP, ‘Purple,’ where she sang a mash-up of ‘Sour Milk’ and Taylor Swift’s ‘Out of the Woods.’ This got fans amped up for her next cover of ‘Unholy’ by Sam Smith and Kim Petras. DYLAN once again created a mash-up with an unreleased song called ‘Bad’ and teased a future album.

Her tenth song of the night was ‘The Alibi,’ a recent release (released 9th February 2024). She told fans that she would be their alibi and got the whole crowd dancing and singing along with her. DYLAN followed on from this as she sang a fan-favorite, ‘You’re Not Harry Styles,’ and joked that the person she wrote the song about doesn’t deserve it being played. It’s a bold song and shows her reclaiming her self-worth. This is evident in the lyric ‘you ain’t good enough to treat me bad.’

To finish the show, DYLAN ended with ‘No Romeo’ and ‘Nothing Lasts Forever.’ Nothing Lasts Forever was the perfect track to end a faultless night because nothing ever lasts forever, and it is a shame that her set was just under an hour long.
