Welcome to Day 25 of Next Wave Magazine's Artist Advent, where we explore the world of emerging talents in the music industry. Today, our spotlight falls on the dynamic and genre-blurring band, Red Remedy.

In an exclusive interview with Next Wave, the band members open up about their musical influences, aspirations, and offer a glimpse into their creative process. As Red Remedy steers towards a stylistic shift into the realm of Pop music, their inspirations span from McFly and Ed Sheeran to The Beatles, The 1975, and even Girls Aloud. With a vision set on gracing main stages at festivals, the band's unwavering commitment to their shared musical journey shines through.

Next Wave: Who are your musical influences or role models?

Our musical tastes are diverse, which gives each of us a unique contribution to the band. Dean and Jack initially bonded over their shared love for lo-fi music, particularly an artist named Clairo, sparking the idea of forming a band. From Indie Rock to Heavy Metal, Country, and now shifting towards Pop music, our inspiration comes from what we enjoy listening to.

We're currently honing our sound towards Pop, drawing inspiration from singer-songwriters like McFly, Ed Sheeran, The Beatles, The 1975, and even Girls Aloud.

Next Wave: What are your long-term goals and aspirations?

Our goal is to aim high, envisioning ourselves playing main stages at festivals one day. As a close-knit group, our dedication to the band is unwavering, and we plan to journey together musically for as long as possible.

Next Wave: Can you share a memorable moment from your musical journey so far?

Among the gigs in our first year, our headline show for the release of our second single "Catalina" stood out. It was the first time we noticed the crowd singing our songs back to us, a heartwarming moment.

Next Wave: Can you share your creative process and how you come up with new song ideas?

Often, we have riffs or chord progressions brewing, and it's a collaborative effort to weave these elements into full songs. Sometimes, observing other bands' unique approaches sparks writing inspiration for us.

Next Wave: What song, EP, or album of yours would you recommend to first-time listeners?

We'd suggest giving a listen to our debut EP "Lost In Love’s Maze," a recent release. The EP features heartfelt lyrics, powerful melodies, and captivating music.
